Children’s Fun Fair at Bowen Island Community School

Sunday, April 30, 10:30 AM-12:30 PM

Families of Bowen Island are welcome to a free Children’s Fair in the BICS Gym. The event is geared towards children 0-5, but all families are welcome. The event features a drum circle from Squamish cultural advisor Sahplek Bob Baker, music from Katie Brock, crafts, activities, and snacks.

It is a great opportunity for families to gather, learn about some of the supports available on the island for children and families, and for future Kindergarten students and families to spend some time at the school and ask any early questions they might have for BICS principal Scott Slater, as well the chance to meet and talk with various health, recreation, and other program providers that serve our community.

Families can come for any part of the Fair.

The League of Canadian Poets invites you to celebrate the 25th National Poetry Month this April 2023 with the theme of JOY. What does JOY mean to you?

Artists:  Jane Kenyon, Eleanor Hannan, Jude Neale, Elizabeth Dancoes: Two textile artists and two poets coming together in an exhibition based on friendship and mutual appreciation…one medium sparks the other in a confluence of ideas and inspiration.

These artists find themselves revisiting themes of femaleness and autonomy through mythology, narrative, figurative exploration, or abstract expression.
