Ramblings of a Committed Traveler: November 10 - 7PM FREE EVENT

Spend an evening with Kami Kanetsuka as she shares her stories as a travel writer during her travels and adventures in Europe, India and beyond...

Kami had travel in her blood from childhood. In the early 60s she lived and worked in Tel Aviv and Rome, then in the mid-sixties she travelled overland from London to Kathmandu with no idea of returning. After many adventures she serendipitously ended up in Canada.

Kami Kanetsuka grew up in London, England. She left school early and worked at various jobs, until the urge to leave grew strong. After living in several countries, working as a secretary, she cut her writing teeth on the Social page of the Bangkok Post in Thailand, and the Rising Nepal in Kathmandu. Through unusual circumstances she emigrated to Canada, and again had various jobs. In between she gave travel slide shows on how to travel on a shoestring in Asia, at the Y.W.C.A and through Continuing Education. She still traveled when she could and became a travel writer.  Several of her stories have been published in anthologies, and photo-stories have appeared in Airline Magazines, Childrens’ National Geographic, magazines and newspapers. She has been working on a memoir way to long and finds it easier to just tell tales.
