ARTIST STATEMENT: MARIAN BANTJES
“For over 30 years I have been working with variations in pattern and repetition. In early 2023 I discovered that in working with text-to-image AI (Midjourney), I can generate many multiples of nearly-the-same or similar images to produce huge collages from hundreds of AI generated images. As with most of my work, these are highly detailed and complex, inviting the viewer to spend time with the piece.”
