SPRING VIBRATIONS
MARCH 11-30
How does it feel to stand in nature during spring? When the earth hums with energy and the promise of growth fills the air? Winter’s dormancy loosens its hold, giving way to a soft unfolding. Vibrancy and renewal trace the first signs of warmth during the most physically and symbolically transformative season — spring. These paintings invite viewers to linger within that threshold moment.
While nothing can fully capture the beauty or energy of the natural world, Nat conveys its emotional essence through vivid colour and flowing linework. Crisp, fine lines painted with care evoke the clarity and freshness of the coastal mountain air.

Nat Tuke is an Australian artist, graphic designer, illustrator and muralist living and creating on the unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). Her artwork is a love letter to the living world — a vibrant celebration of the coastal mountain landscape. Nat paints what it feels like to stand in nature, rather than simply what she sees. While nothing can truly capture the beauty or energy of our planet, she strives to convey its emotional essence through vivid colour and flowing linework. Crisp, fine lines painted with painstaking precision evoke the clarity and freshness of the coastal mountain air. Nat is very aware of the fragility of the natural world and the important role it has in our lives, and believes strongly in the power of art as a means to convey this message. Our environment is under threat and our climate is in crisis. In her paintings though, she chooses to celebrate and cherish the beauty of the natural world as a great gift that has been given to us; that must be preserved and protected.

The Energy of Spring with Nat Tuke
Each spring, the coastal mountains awaken with a quiet surge of energy as forests, rivers, and wildlife emerge from winter.
Opening this month at the Hearth Gallery on Bowen Island, Nat Tuke’s solo exhibition Spring Vibrations runs from March 11–30. The exhibition features a new series of spring-inspired acrylic paintings that capture the season's vitality and transformation.
Through vibrant colour and expressive movement, the paintings invite viewers to pause within the fleeting moment of seasonal change. Forests burst with fresh foliage, bear cubs explore their surroundings with curiosity, flowers bloom beneath snow-capped peaks, and rushing rivers carve through the landscape.
Together, the works reflect the energy and renewal that define the arrival of spring. The series is inspired by Tuke’s experiences living and exploring in the coastal mountains of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), where she has the honour of residing and creating. Time spent observing the rhythms of the natural world continues to shape her work, inviting viewers to reconnect with the vitality of the landscapes that surround us.
The public is invited to celebrate the exhibition at an artist pARTy on Saturday, March 14 from 6–8 PM at the Hearth Gallery on Bowen Island. Light refreshments will be provided, with drinks available from the bar.
