Tim Wake

When I moved to Bowen Island in 2009 and was delighted to be introduced to a caring and kind community that was devoted to the arts. Prior to arriving here, I spent 15 years in Whistler, helping to establish the Whistler Housing Authority, a non-profit dedicated to creating an inventory of affordable rental and ownership housing for locals.

While living in Whistler, I served on Whistler Council, on the Public Art Committee and as a board member for Millenium Place, our community performance theatre and gallery. My professional career has been split between operating a backcountry lodge at Lake O’Hara in Yoho National Park and affordable housing work in BC.

Currently serving as a member of Bowen’s Municipal Council, I am excited to join the board of the Hearth Arts on Bowen to help strengthen its partnership with the municipality and the community. We are so fortunate to have the Gallery and our new Bowen Theatre to showcase a full range local artistic talent.
