This summer Kingbaby Theatre is mounting Samuel Beckett's masterpiece of modern theatre at the Bowen Theatre! 

One of Samuel Beckett’s most celebrated and visionary works, Happy Days follows Winnie, a middle aged everywoman who greets each day with determination, humour, and an unwavering belief in the possibility of happiness, despite the most dire and desolate of circumstances.

At the heart of this production is a continuing family collaboration. Jackie Minns takes on the towering role of Winnie, in a tour-de-force performance not to be missed, while David Cameron appears as Willie, her often-silent companion whose presence provides an anchor and sole point of connection, however elusive. Their son, Andrew Cameron, returns as director, after the successes with Mad Mabel's Christmas and The View. The production explores the play’s profound questions about solitude, connection, endurance, and how we fill the seemingly infinite moments of our lives.

Staged at The Bowen Theatre the production embraces both the comedy and the existential depth of Beckett’s masterpiece. With stage management by Jenny Freeman and costumes designed by Ines Ortner (The Real Rapunzel), the production offers audiences a fresh encounter with a modern classic that remains as moving, funny, and startling today as when it was first written.

Happy Days is a celebration of perseverance in the face of uncertainty—a poignant and often hilarious portrait of human resilience that invites us to find meaning, connection, and even joy amid life's most brutal circumstances.
