One Solar Year: the astronomical, social and ecological landscape of 2022

Markus Roemer:
• Seasonal Cycles Graph – a linear depiction of the days of the year, showing tides, sun and moon
data, as well as daylight hours, daily high and low perceived temperatures, and rainfall.
Emily van Lidth de Jeude:
• (dis)robe: Gaia Gown – an altered wedding dress depicting local ecology over the course of a
year
• One Solar Year (book) – from winter solstice 2021 to winter solstice 2022, a book containing
photos by Emily van Lidth de Jeude and Taliesin van Lidth de Jeude Roemer, along with poems
inspired by social, political and ecological events of the year.
• One Solar Year (prints) – prints of the photos from the book (without poems), hung unframed
from clothesline, above ________________.
• One Solar Year (audio recording) – the poems from the book, read by Emily van Lidth de Jeude,
with seasonal audioscape. 2.5h long, loop.
Taliesin van Lidth de Jeude Roemer: (he doesn't want to be involved with the creation of the show, and
is now living on the mainland, but will attend the opening--probably...)
• Photographs of local wildlife.
Interactive:
• Community mural (blank paper with coloured pens provided). Gallery visitors are invited to
illustrate (in words, images, or abstraction) their experiences of the year depicted in the exhibition.
