The Bowen Island Arts Council was formed over 30 years ago by a dedicated group of residents who wanted to create a space for artists to express themselves, and for the Bowen community to directly engage with arts on the island.
In the following years the Bowen Island Arts Council began to host events, advocate for community spaces, and in 1997 we moved into our first gallery at Artisan Square. From then on, we held over 250 exhibits and welcomed 150,000 visitors to the gallery.
