Russell Hackney

BIOGRAPHY
Born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, (an area commonly known as ‘The Potteries’.) I come from a long family tradition of Ceramists: I learned to model commissioned shapes and embossment designs for a variety of clients in the family business, including modelling a replica 19th Century clock that was presented to the Queen.

It was this work history that led to my current method of working in ceramics, which forms the foundation of my art and craft.
