Compensation: $44,000 annually (~25 hrs/week) + project management software allowance
About Us
Hearth Arts on Bowen (the “Hearth”) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a thriving arts and cultural scene on Bowen Island. As a key operator of the Bowen Theatre at the Community Centre, the Hearth curates a wide range of public programming and supports artists and presenters in creating meaningful community experiences through the performing arts.
Position Summary
The Programming and Production Manager (PPM) plays a central role in curating, producing, managing and supporting performing arts and cultural programming at the Bowen Theatre. Reporting jointly to the Executive Director of the Hearth (ED) and the Chair of the Performing Arts Committee (PAC), the PPM serves as a liaison between the Hearth, Bowen Island Municipality, local and touring presenters and technical/venue staff to deliver a well-coordinated, high-quality calendar of events.

Key Responsibilities
Programming Coordination (40%)
Collaborate with local, community-based artists, presenters and organizations to develop programming for the Bowen Theatre.
Coordinate annual programming to ensure a balanced and vibrant calendar of events.
Build relationships with local and off-island artists, presenters, organizations and
audiences.
Manage the Production Intake Process for each event.
Gather and submit marketing content for the Bowen Theatre Calendar.
Production Services (40%)
Offer presenters base level support and optional fee-for -service add-ons (e.g. Front of House Management, tech liaison, insurance coordination).
Coordinate co-presentation partnerships with selected artists/events and manage revenue sharing arrangements.
Produce the co-presentation shows in partnership with artists/events
Lead producer for the Hearth Presents Series programmed in collaboration with the PAC
(handling artist contracting, event logistics, and post-show reporting including photos and audience feedback)
Development, Marketing and Administration (20%)
Support the ED and the PAC in audience development, sponsorship outreach, grant management and statistical reporting.
Work with Marketing Specialist to ensure timely, effective promotion of all public events
Qualifications and Attributes
Required:
Demonstrated experience in event coordination, programming or production management
Budgeting and financial reporting experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency with digital project management and information sharing tools.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
Production project evaluation
Preferred:
Post-secondary education in Event Management, Arts Administration, or a related field
Experience working in non-profit or government funded organizations
Knowledge of performing arts production and technical processes
• Passion for the arts and community cultural development
Additional Details:
Contract fee: $44,000 annually approximately 25 hours per week
Start date: Summer, 2025
